General informationARRIVAL INFORMATION : The first week of the school will be held in the downtown at the Scientific Society of Argentina, located in Av. Santa Fe 1145, Buenos Aires. The courses will be given in the Auditorium Ameghino on the 1st floor. Wifi access will be available on the same floor. View Giambiagi 2009 1st week in a larger map The second week of the school will be held at the School of Exact and Natural Sciences of the University of Buenos Aires, located in Ciudad Universitaria. The courses will be given in the main lecture room (Aula Magna) of the Industry Department Building. Computer terminals and wifi access will be available to School participants in the Computer Lab on the second floor of the building one (Pabellon 1). View Giambiagi 2009 2nd Week in a larger map TRANSPORTATION : The Scientific Society of Argentina can be reached by several bus lines and a short walk, some of buses are: 5,10,39,67,75,101,102,108,111,132,150,152. The subway line D has a nearby stop (7 blocks) called "Tribunales", and the line C has a stop 3 blocks away called "General San Martin". The University Campus (Ciudad Universitaria) is served by the bus lines 28, 33, 37, 42, 45, 107, 160. Some buses end their route before reaching the University campus. Only those with a special sign "Ciudad Universitaria" behind the windshield serve the School site. You should step down from the bus at the first stop inside campus. All bus routes end at their third stop inside campus. The bus fare (1.25 pesos) must be paid aboard, using coin-operated ticket machines. The driver will not provide change/coins, so you must have your own to pay. PHONE SERVICES : Card operated public phones, for local and international calls, are available in the ground floor of the building. Cards are available in the kiosk next to the building entrance. Long-distance phone and fax services are also available in cabins next to the entrance to the second building (Pabellon 2). The rates for international calls from these cabins ("Locutorios", also common downtown) are cheaper than hotel phone rates. DEPARTURE INFORMATION : A bus company (Manuel Tienda Leon) offers transportation from downtown Buenos Aires to Ezeiza International Airport. The ride takes about 40 minutes.
